Choje Lama Wangchuk Topden was born in Kathmandu into the family of Thrangu Rinpoche in 1983. In 2018 H.H. Karmapa
bestowed on him the title “Choje Lama”. In the same year H.E. Thrangu Rinpoche declared him as his body, speech and mind represantative. Since then he carries the responsibility for all of Thrangu
Rinpoches monasteries and institutions as well as for his schools and the clinic.
He received his school education in Thrangu Rinpoches SMD School for Himalayan Children. At the age of six he already felt the wish for
ordination, but only when he became 12 his family consented to his ordination. Khenpo Ngedon, the most senior Khenpo of the Thrangu Monastery, became his tutor. Under his guidance he received his
basic Buddhist education.
After he finished his education he became attendant and secretary for H.E. Thrangu Rinpoche. In 2008 he performed a Three-Year-Retreat in the Thrangu Sekhar Retreat Center under the guidance of
Thrangu Rinpoche and Drupon Rinpoche Khenpo Lhabu, the retreat master of the center. After his retreat he continued to work as attendant and secretary for Thrangu Rinpoche. In 2015 he became the
chairman of the Namo Buddha Meditation and Educational Center, which oversees all of Rinpoches projects in Nepal.
