Thrangu Tashi Choling - "The auspicious dharma place"

The meditation center Thrangu Tashi Choling belongs to the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. "Tashi Choling" means "auspicious dharma place". It was founded upon request of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, who is the highest abbot of the Karma Kagyu tradition, with the aim to make the Buddhist teachings accessible to his students and all interested people in Germany and surrounding countries.

In 2010 the center moved to the location in Cologne-Seeberg. It is under the spiritual guidance of Lama Kunga, who gives teachings and guides meditations on a monthly basis. He also organizes events with different teachers of the Karma Kagyu tradition. Next to Thrangu Rinpoche himself, the center was also visited by Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche in the past. Upon request of Thrangu Rinpoche, who can’t do extended travels anymore due to his health condition, Tulku Damcho visits the center on a yearly basis to give teachings and empowerments.
