05-06.02.22 Vajrakilaya
Teaching, Practice and Tsog Pūjā
Vajrakīlaya, a wrathful manifestation of Vajrasattva, eradicates ignorance and emotional afflictions that cause obstacles in our daily life and our dharma practice. The symbol of the compassionate wrathful activity is the phurpa, a ritual dagger which stabs the obstacles, thereby subduing and transforming their destructive potential. Vajrakīlaya in essence represents our own pure inner nature, that was never stained by the turmoils of mental afflictions. The activity of Vajrakīlaya is especially effective in pacifying social conflicts and disturbances, and mending breaches of the tantric samaya, like the breaches of the bonds between Vajrayāna practitioners.

12-13.03.22 Medicine Buddha Practice
Teachings and Practice
While still training on the bodhisattva path, the medicine buddha took the vow that by hearing his name the sentient beings will be healed from their illnesses. Since every physical and mental disease is ultimately caused by the three mental poisons greed, hatred and ignorance, the practice of the medicine buddha can not only heal diseases, but also lead us on the path of liberation. Through his practice we pray for the healing activity of his deep blue light for ourselves as well as for other beings of the six realms.

09-10.04.22 Manjushri
Teaching and practice
The bodhisattva Manjushri (tib. Jampalyang) embodies the discerning wisdom (Skt. prajna, Tib. sherab) of all the buddhas. He holds a flaming sword up in his right hand, cutting through our ignorance and transforming it into wisdom. In his left hand he holds a lotus flower with the Prajnaparamita Sutra on top, the sutra of the perfection of wisdom.
The Manjushri practice is performed in order to purify obstacles of knowledge and wisdom. It is said, that practicing Manjushri helps to sharpen the intellect and the memory. Therefore, many great scholars of Tibetan Buddhism had a very close connection to this yidam.

14-15.05.22 White Tara
Teachings and Practice

White Tara, Tib. Drolkar, is known as the Mother of All Buddhas und embodies the purity of compassion. For instance, she harmonizes the five elements, which constitute the body, and dissolves blockages of the subtle body, leading to improved health and a prolongation of our life. With her practice we want pray on this day for long life, health, freedom from obstacles as well as world peace.

11-12.06.22 Shine/Lhakthong
In our modern world with its ever increasing speed of life and its manifold distractions, our mind never comes to rest. We permanently oscillate between exitation and laxity. The practice of shine aims at rediscovering the natural clarity and stillness of our mind. A mind which is stabilized in this way enables us to deepen our insights gained through the analytical lhaktong meditation in order to deeply suffuse and transform our daily life activities.

Teaching, Practice and Tsog Puja
Jetsün Milarepa (1052-1135) is one of the most important yogis of Tibet. His teacher Marpa took him as a student only after a long, tough period of testing and inner purification. This was necessary because Milarepa had caused the death of many people out of revenge. With his radical inner change, his persistence during the time of testing, the deep trust in his guru as well as the strong devotion with which he performed his practice, finally leading him to enlightenment, he becomes a great example for us showing the transformative power of meditation practice.

Teachings on the Six Pāramitās:
The six pāramitās (generosity, ethics, patience, zeal, meditation and wisdom) comprise the training of the bodhisattva on his way to enlightenment. The development of the first five pāramitās is necessary for the accumulation of merit, the development of the sixth pāramitā corresponds to the accumulation of wisdom. The pāramitās are like practical instructions guiding us in our development towards enlightenment.

Empowerments:
While still training on the bodhisattva path, the medicine buddha took the vow that by hearing his name the sentient beings will be healed from their illnesses. Since every physical and mental disease is ultimately caused by the three mental poisons greed, hatred and ignorance, the practice of the medicine buddha can not only heal diseases, but also lead us on the path to liberation.
The practice of Vajrasattva, the "vajra being" or "indestructable being", is an important and especially effective purification practice in vajrayāna buddhism. In connection with an ethical way of life the meditation on Vajrasattva becomes like a strong fire that consumes our negative karma, as is stated in a buddhist tantra. The practice is amongst others part of the ngondro, the preliminary practices that prepare us for the vajrayāna practice.

14-15.01.17 Vajrakīlaya

Do Tulku Rinpoche
30-31.01.17 Heart Sūtra (Short Version)
Talk
The Heart Sūtra is propably one of the best known and most chanted of all sūtras. It is the essence of the perfection of wisdom, prajñāpāramitā. The sūtra describes the insight about the fundamental emptiness of all phenomena that is gained in deep meditation by the bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara. It is this insight into the nature of reality that becomes the basis for the liberation from all suffering.

Do Tulku Rinpoche was born in Southern India in 1985. At the age of 17 he was identified by H.H. Sakya Trizin as the 6th Raktrul Rinpoche. Following eleven years of training in Buddhist philosophy, practice and debate he graduated as Āchārya in the Dzongsar Khyentse Chokyi Lodro Institute. There and in different schools he was teaching for one year and guided retreats for monks. He received teachings, transmissions and empowerments from some of the greatest masters of our time. Do Tulku Rinpoche is appreciated for his erudite, interactive and often unconventional and humorous way of conveying the Buddhist teachings.

The Aspirational Prayer for Mahāmudrā
The III. Karmapa Rangjung Dorje (1284-1339) was both a great scholar and a great practitioner. He studied the Kagyu as well as the Nyingma tradition and he has brought the traditions of Mahāmudrā and Dzogchen closer together. In his early twenties he had a vision of Vimalamitra and Guru Rinpoche dissolving into him, and in that moment he received all the transmissions of the Dzogchen tantras.
One of his most famous works is the Aspirational Prayer for Mahāmudrā. The text starts with the aspiration to realize mahāmudrā, and then it leads us with a step-by-step description along the Buddhist path to show us how to reach that goal.

Medicine Buddha
While still training on the bodhisattva path, the medicine buddha took the vow that by hearing his name the sentient beings will be healed from their illnesses. Since every physical and mental disease is ultimately caused by the three mental poisons greed, hatred and ignorance, the practice of the medicine buddha can not only heal diseases, but also lead us on the path of liberation. Through his practice we pray for the healing activity of his deep blue light for ourselves as well as for other beings of the six realms.

Khenpo Gangshar Wangpo (born 1925), a great scholar and mahasiddha known as a master of the „Crazy Wisdom“ tradition, was connected both to Shechen and Thrangu Monasteries in Kham. He was the guru of many great masters, including Thrangu Rinpoche, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Khenpo Karthar. It was thought that he died in a Chinese prison between 1958 and 1961, but there are also accounts that he survived 22 years of imprisonment and passed away in 1980 or 1981 before he was found by his former students.
In the summer of 1957, while staying at the Thrangu Monastery, Khenpo Gangshar foresaw the difficulties that Tibetans would soon have to face, and began teaching in a completely new way. These teachings represent the essence of both mahamudra and dzogchen, presented in a way that is easy to understand and to practice, even under the most difficult circumstances. According to Thrangu Rinpoche, the mind instructions of Khenpo Ghangshar were the most important teachings he had received in his life, helping him in the times of his greatest hardships.

Vajrakilaya, a wrathful manifestation of Vajrasattva, eradicates ignorance and emotional afflictions that cause obstacles in our daily life and our dharma practice. The symbol of the compassionate wrathful activity is the phurpa, a ritual dagger which stabs the obstacles, thereby subduing and transforming their destructive potential. Then, after spending several years as a monk there, he was finally recognized and inthroned as Tulku Damcho. Tulku Damcho was outstanding in his studies and his conduct, and completed the shedra with excellence. A traditional 3-year retreat and a one year Kalachakra retreat followed, which ended in 2007. 08.11.15 Visit by Karma Lhabu Drupon Rinpoche
Mindfulness in Everyday Life
Talk

Shamatha, a meditation for the development of mindfulness, leads to clarity and stillness. An undistracted and clear mind is not only important for meditation, we need these qualities also in postmeditation, which means in our everyday life, within our families or at our work place How is it possible for us to integrate the experiences gained on the cushion in an effective way into our daily life?

Khenpo Karma Lhabu received his education in Eastern Tibet. He performed several retreats, also a traditional Three-Year Retreat, and was quickly recognized as Mahamudra teacher due to his extraordinary skills. In 2004 he was appointed as retreat master for the Three-Year retreats by Thrangu Rinpoche. Right now he stays as Khenpo and retreat master in Samye Ling, where he assists in the establishment of a shedra.

Lama Kunga
28-29.11.15 Green Tara
Practice

The Tibetan name for Tara, Drölma, literally means savior, protector. As Green Tara she protects us from outer dangers as well as from our mental afflictions that bind us to the circle of samsaric existence. She purifies negative karmic imprints that trigger the manifestation of these respective experiences. Tara is said to be the embodiment of the active compassion of all the buddhas. Like a loving mother, who can’t bear to hear her childs‘ cry for help, she swiftly comes to our aid within an instant, given that we are willing to open us to her enlightened activity. In that way she can dispel obstacles on our path and lead us to genuine happiness.

Lama Tashi Dondrup
08-10.08.14 What Happens With Me After Death? – Liberation in the Bardo
Public talk and teachings
In Tibetan Buddhism, when we talk about "bardo", what's usually meant is the phase between death and rebirth. In this phase, the conciousness lives through a series of experiences starting from the clear realization of reality at the moment of death to the fearful halluzinations caused by unwholesome actions within the past life. When one is properly prepared for these experiences, then the bardo provides for a great possibility for liberation. Without this proper preparation one experiences the bardo as a place of great danger, and halluzinations caused by negative karmic impulses can even lead to rebirths in lower realms of existence.

Born in 1953 in Tibet, Lama Tashi Dondrub grew up in Bhutan after the escape from his homeland. He started early to study the Buddhist teachings with his father, who was a Nyingma lama. Ordained by H.H. the 16th Karmapa, he received his education in Rumtek monastery in Sikkim. He lived there for 16 years and was responsible for the education of the young monks. He then went into retreat, performing first the traditional Three-Year-Retreat, followed by a one-year Kalachakra retreat. In 1988 he came to Germany, teaching for 10 years at the Kamalashila Institute. Since 1998 he leads a Buddhist center in Canada.

Tulku Damcho
12-14.09.2014 Lojong – Seven-Point Mindtraining
Public talk, Teachings and Practice
Empowerment into the 4-armed Chenrezig
The practice of mindtraining aiming at the development of bodhicitta is especially useful in our modern time. One does not have to practice in a cave or isolated from everyday life, we can connect this practice with all the things we do each day. The instructions are condensed in just a few key sentences, which can be easily remembered and therefore become important reference points for our daily life.

Tulku Damcho Rinpoche was recognized as the reincarnation of the great master Lama Tsoknyi by His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche. From an early age on he had wished to receive the monks vows. After the Thrangu Tashi Choling monastery was established in Kathmandu/Nepal, he insisted to become a monk there. Asked by Thrangu Rinpoche, he now travels to different centers in Europe to give teachings and empowerments on a yearly basis.

Chenrezig is the embodiment of the compassion of all the buddhas. He manifests in the six realms of existence in manifold ways in order to liberate all beings from suffering. His wrathful manifestation is Mahakala. With his practice, we establish a connection to him, enabling him to unfold his activity in our own mind.
In this course we receive teachings about the six realms and we practice the development of love and compassion towards all beings who are locked in these different states of existence.

06-07.12.14 Milarepa Guruyoga
Teachings and practice
Jetsün Milarepa (1052-1135) is one of the most important yogis of Tibet. His teacher Marpa took him as a student only after a long, tough period of testing and inner purification. This was necessary because Milarepa had caused the death of many people out of revenge. With his radical inner change, his persistence during the time of testing, the deep trust in his guru as well as the strong devotion with which he performed his practice, finally leading him to enlightenment, he becomes a great example for us showing the transformative power of meditation practice.
With this guruyoga we pray to receive his blessings for our own practice.
